Plastics are becoming a major problem and are causing some severe damage to our environment especially in the ocean. Dunkin Donuts is a huge corporation that is a leading contributor to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Dunkin sells more than 1.7 billion cups of coffee around the world per year, the sad thing is that most of these cups end up somewhere in the ocean or on land damaging our environment. Marine species are eating plastics that are in the ocean causing many deaths which is affecting the food chain. We recommend that Dunkin Donuts stop using styro-foam cups and start using paper cups, paper cups are more easily recycled. However, we also propose that Dunkin Donuts increases the price of beverages used in disposable cups and decrease the price for people who use reusable cups, this will force people into making the more eco-friendly choice, and overall lead to a cleaner and healthier ocean.
